In a music business that seems to celebrate mediocrity, it's nice to hear a band doesn't sound like everyone else. the Whigs are that band. their new album is called mission control, and is filled not with great songs or awesome songs, but cool songs, and cool is good enough for me. this album makes me what to relax with a drink and a smoke. i don't have to listen to it and care about how fast the drummer is playing or how low the guitarist can tune down before it becomes total shit! I'm not saying the Whigs don't rock, they do but they have that cool-ness about them that you just can't flip on the radio and find anymore. the Whigs prove that there is still hope for the future of rock music. deal with it.
